A Sad Turn of Events for Daniel O'connor

After all that hoo-ha, it turns out that ABC sound recordist, Daniel O'Connor, isn't Tony Abbot's son after all.

Though amusing, you've got to feel for the guy a little. A few weeks ago, Daniel was living up the prospect of having a powerful and charismatic politician as a father - now he's trying his best to deal with the sad fact that his mother is an embarrassing and promiscuous whore.

Dead bull with the life from the low
Ill be massive conquistador
Give me soul and show me the door
Metal heavy, soft at the core
Gimme toro, gimme some more

Pressurize, neutralize
Deep fried, gimme some more

Space flunky, four on the floor
Fortified with the liqour store
This one's down, gimme some more
Gimme toro, gimme some more

Shrunken head I love to adore
B-movie, gimme some gore
Gimme toro, gimme some more
B-movie, gimme some gore

Gimme toro, gimme some more

normally I shy away from trying to make out or understand Queens lyrics (Feelgood Hit of the Summer excepted) but i've gotta say now that i've found out what the lyrics are to 'You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar' - I like the song even more.

Now, I wonder what the hell Homme is ranting about in First it Giveth...

As a side note:

I really don't like Tony Abbotts politics. The man is an animal. But he has shown an amazing grace in dealing with this matter, and one that few people would be able to manage.

The following is a quote from the SMH this morning:
--------------
Mr Abbott said it would be up to Mr O'Connor whether they remained friends but he would stay friends with Ms Donnelly.

"The last thing I would do is make critical judgments about hot-blooded young people," he said.

"We were all pretty wild back then so I am not in the business of making critical judgments. She is a great girl and this doesn't change any of that," he said
---------------------

Given that Abbott has had his career placed under attack, his family exposed to the media etc etc over this woman who didn't even raise the possibility of a mistaken paternity I think that is a truly admirable attitude.
