Jacks reasons are here:

When I go to order a meal from McDonalds, I find that the female counter staff will more often than not find me somewhat attractive.
As a result of this, if I order a "small" meal, the young girl in question will, in an attempt to draw my attention to the fact that they are quivering in my presence, in fact serve me a "medium" or "large" portion of fries, even when a multidtude of "small" fries was available in the hot rack.
Of this attraction I am certain.
Unfortunately, this offer of generosity is not met with an accompaniment of a "medium" or "large" soft drink. As such, I am forced to accept and eat the larger, unbalanced portion of fries. The excess salt in McDonalds fries leaves my mouth parched and in the absence of an appropriately paired soft drink, my dining experience is ruined.
My life is pain and suffering.
